Vasso Giannakopoulou is a choreographer and dance artist based in Athens, Greece. She studied dance at the professional schools of D. Grigoriadou, the National School of Dance and the Performing Arts Center, from which she graduated. Always inspired by movement, she has dedicated herself to the study of the human body, which led to her later studies of the Feldenkrais Method. She became a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner in 2015.

Since 1990, her career has been enriched by her participation in international productions and teaching of contemporary dance. In 2003 she began her career as a choreographer, presenting her work “Night Mirror” at the International Dance Festivals of Athens and Kalamata. In 2004 she co-founded Dalika Dance Theatre with lighting designer Tassos Palaioroutas.

Her work and projects have been presented internationally and supported by the Greek Ministry of Culture.

She collaborated with D. Papaioannou and was part of his choreographic team for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games and for the opening ceremony of the first European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2015.

She is a founding member of the Greek Dance Association “Syndesmos Chorou”, a group of Greek choreographers with whom she has created and presented a series of actions and performances at the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, the Kalamata International Dance Festival, in theatres and events throughout Greece.

A certified Feldenkrais practitioner, she regularly teaches group and individual Feldenkrais lessons in Athens and on the island of Syros, and organises seminars worldwide.
